The Vice-Chancellor for Research and Technology of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and the President of the Health Science and Technology Park, along with their accompanying delegation, visited one of the food production factories in the Shiraz Industrial Town and held discussions with the stakeholders of this production facility.

According to the Public Relations Office of Shiraz Health Park, the President of Shiraz Health Science and Technology Park stated during this program: The university can be regarded as a factory whose product is science and technology.

Dr. Hamid Mohammadi added: We have achieved great accomplishments in scientific and research fields, but our mission is not limited to publishing articles; we must play a more effective role in society and industry.

He stated: The purpose of this visit is to strengthen the university-industry connection, gain a better understanding of the province's industrial capacities, and establish a constructive relationship with successful industries. This interaction can contribute to experience exchange, technology development, and addressing the real needs of the country.

Dr. Mohammadi announced: At the Health Science and Technology Park, infrastructure for supporting technological projects, joint investment, and utilization of tax credit facilities are available, and these capacities can make the university-industry relationship structured and sustainable.

During this meeting, the establishment of a joint consortium for the production of diagnostic kits with the collaboration of specialized companies and medical sciences faculty members, the development of technological products, and the utilization of the capacity of Article 13 of the Law on the Leap in Knowledge-Based Production were also raised by one of the vice-chancellors of the Health Science and Technology Park.

The manager of the visited factory, while pointing out the challenges and the necessity of practical collaboration between industry and university, expressed his welcome for any kind of scientific and technological cooperation with the university and expressed hope that the outcomes of these interactions would not only enhance the level of technology and production sustainability but also improve the welfare conditions of the employees.

At the end of this visit, the attendees emphasized the continuation of specialized meetings, experience exchange, implementation of projects and joint working groups, and mutual utilization of scientific, technical, and production capacities.
