Senior Advisor to the President of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences Stressed:

Strengthening Scientific and Technological Cooperation for the Benefit of the People

The Senior Advisor to the President of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and the President of the Islamic Azad University of Fars Province exchanged views today, May 2, 2026, on the development of scientific and technological cooperation.

 

 

According to the Public Relations Department of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and Health Services, the Senior Advisor to the President, during a meeting attended by the representative of the people of Marvdasht, Arsanjān, and Pāsārgād counties in the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis), congratulated the attendees on Teacher's Day. Referring to Shiraz University of Medical Sciences' 80-year history and the success of its graduates around the world, he emphasized the importance of utilizing eminent and veteran professors in various medical fields, as well as the high capacities of research centers and knowledge-based companies, in achieving self-sufficiency for the province and, consequently, the country.

Dr. Kurosh Azizi added: "Shiraz University of Medical Sciences is prepared to collaborate with the Islamic Azad University in the development and expansion of the Science and Technology Park."

He stated that the goal of strengthening cooperation is to jointly harness the capabilities of both institutions—Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and the Islamic Azad University of Fars Province—and to expand scientific and technological collaborations for the benefit of the people.

Dr. Mohammad Reza Ghaedi, President of the Islamic Azad University of Fars Province, also addressed the key developmental measures of the university, particularly in the field of research sciences, and stressed the necessity of strengthening joint collaborations with Shiraz University of Medical Sciences.

Esfandiar Abdollahi, the representative of Marvdasht, Arsanjān, and Pāsārgād counties in the Majlis, also emphasized the importance of efforts toward national self-sufficiency, stating: "Utilizing domestic talents and elites is the way to overcome foreign dependencies and sanctions, and this approach should be taken into account in the province's development planning."

Dr. Hamid Mohammadi, Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, also underscored the importance of establishing and developing the Science and Technology Park, particularly in the health sector, and announced that cooperation with Azad University in this area will play a significant role in synergizing efforts and advancing biotechnology development in the province.
