Review of Technological Collaboration Opportunities During a University Delegation’s Visit to a Food Production Facility in Shiraz
On Wednesday, the 29th of Bahman 1404 (February 18, 2026), the Vice-Chancellors of Shiraz Health Science and Technology Park, the Director of Health Technology Development, the Director of Industry Relations of the University, along with a group of faculty members from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, visited one of the food production factories located in the Shiraz Industrial Town.
During this visit, the academic delegation toured the production lines, quality control and assurance units, specialized laboratories, and the research and development department of the factory, and closely observed the production processes, health requirements, and regulatory mechanisms of the facility.
The factory managers also presented reports on quality improvement programs, equipment modernization, process optimization, and new product development. The university faculty members, emphasizing the necessity of purposefully utilizing modern technologies in the food industry, highlighted the role of continuous interaction between academic centers and production units in enhancing food safety indicators, increasing productivity, and improving product quality.

In this meeting, the Scientific and Technology Vice-Chancellor of Shiraz Health Science and Technology Park, referring to the park's mission in developing the health technology ecosystem, announced the park's full readiness for close collaboration with this industrial unit.
Dr. Mirzaei stated that the park can facilitate the advancement of technology and production quality levels by establishing connections between specialized teams, providing consulting services, facilitating the implementation of technological projects, and utilizing laboratory and specialized capacities.
In conclusion, both sides emphasized the continuation of expert meetings, the development of a joint action plan, and the establishment of a clear mechanism for follow-up on joint collaborations.
